Memories Captured: Bag of Tricks

I always wonder and worry that you don't get the same amount of attention as your older brother. Do we take note of all the little things you do and say? Do we capture them? It's different being the younger child. For the most part, the novelty and excitement of having a child is gone. Instead of taking 100 pictures a day, you're lucky if we took a 100 pictures during your first three months. You definitely don't have a baby book.

At two and a half, you sure are spirited little character who has no problem speaking what's on your mind...all the time. You are no doubt the boss of the house. You have a funny set of quirks like reciting the 50 states of the USA in song, creating parking lots in every nook and cranny of the house, and painting elephants.

You are constantly holding something in one or both hands, often multiple items. You insist on carrying these items around in a zip lock bag. You sleep with them clutched in your hands or safely tucked under your bed. At two and a half, these are the things that you hold near and dear to your heart, mostly stuffed into your little bag of tricks and treasure boxes.

Oh, I LOVE their little two-year-old needs to carry things around! I feel the same way about my younger son, that he doesn't have nearly the fanfare that his older brother did. Of course now he's the only one who will reliably smile for pictures, so maybe it'll all even out pretty soon here!

Aw, that's so sweet, that he carries his treasures around in a zip lock bag!! It's such a great age, isn't it?

Thanks for linking up with us!

Oh rocks are something they treasure forever - I'm still finding those in the dryer :)

Oh, your sweet 'lil guy!

(I worry about my littles, too. But this kind of focus? Is stunning, isn't it?)

LOVE this picture! That says more than 100... It's true, we don't have a lot of pics of our son, but tons of our daughter - like 100s of the same it seems. It's capturing those moments that count, not the quantity ;)

I kind of get that - we took a gazillion pics during our son's first year, and like, maybe 200 his whole second year. I think it's because we stop needing to document it all and just enjoy living it with them!

And I think it's gonna take a while until they stop carrying around their treasures. My boy is a little over 3 1/2 and still has to carry his fav toy of the day around with him all day long.

Ha ha! There IS an upside to all of this! My older son is so sick of taking pictures and smiling for the camera.

I swear to God, we go through so many zip lock bags! I feel like such a bad Mother for all the waste we generate. It is a fun age - trying but fun. That's for hosting this fabulous link up. It reminds me to stop and breath it all in.

So many rocks at the bottom of our dryer. I'm afraid we'll have to buy a new dryer soon!

Thank you! I kind of love this picture to and how it turned out. You are so right - capturing quality memories is what counts.

You are so right. Living in the moment is what counts and the quality of time we spend together, not just the number of pictures. Thank you!

It amazes me how much he can carry in his two little chubby hands! Serious talent or something.

Ohhhhh, he's so cute! I love that he wants to carry things around all the time. And sleeping with them too? Swoon. And he's really been to 50 states?

He hasn't actually been to all 50 states. He's obsessed with a couple of YouTube songs about the 50 states so he knows all the names and can spot them on the map. It's pretty amusing - good party trick :-)
